A cheap roll is thin and sparse; a premium one packs far more yarn into the same square metre, which is exactly what makes it look real and last for years.

How to compare quotes fairly

Two quotes are only comparable when they cover the same thing. Before you judge on price, ask: What is the pile weight and pile height? Is the yarn UV-stabilised and safety-certified? Does the price include base, drainage and installation, or just the roll? What warranty is included, and does it cover colour? A cheap number that skips the base and drainage will cost more once you add them back.

Ask what's in the number. A roll-only price next to an installed price isn't a saving — it's an unfinished lawn.
