Mr Wong, a specialist in artificial turf, did a great job installing his high-end Belgian turf at Bodmin Drive for my niece's house in 2016. It's been 10 years and the grass is still in excellent condition and looks like natural grass. The best advantage is that it is maintenance free.

Wong helped us resurface our garden and lay new turf a few weeks ago and we are extremely happy with the result. Wong was very helpful discussing all our options and communicating on start dates and the work involved. His team were professional and did a great job. They even helped lay some extra turf up the side of our house, which was left over from the job. Everyone has been complimenting our garden since! Thank you

Safe for the kids and pets, and when our tenancy ended the floor underneath was left perfectly clean no marks at all. The team was tidy and professional from start to finish.

Did the artificial grass installation for my office. Mr Wong is very nice and responsible. He answered all my questions patiently and the result looks fantastic. Highly recommend.

Straight answer

Sometimes a repair is throwing good money after bad.

If the yarn has faded, gone brittle or flattened across the whole lawn, patching one corner just puts a new square next to a dying surface, and you will call us again next year. We would rather lose a small repair job than take your money for one. So we look at the fibres away from the damage first, tell you plainly which of the two you have, and quote only that. Most of the time it genuinely is a repair, and we say so just as readily.

What we fix

The six failures we are called out for most.

Nearly all of them trace back to how the turf was laid rather than the turf itself, which is why the repair has to fix the cause and not just the symptom.

Get it looked at

Seams opening up

A join that was taped instead of properly seamed will creep apart and show a green-brown line down the lawn. We lift the join, rebuild the seam on a fresh joining strip and close it so it disappears.

Edges lifting and curling

Turf that was never edge-fixed will pull away from walls, kerbs and planters, and every lifted edge is a trip hazard. We re-anchor the perimeter properly so it stays flat.

Burns, tears and holes

A dropped barbecue coal, a cigarette or a sharp furniture leg melts a hole straight through. We cut out the damage and let in a matching patch, seamed and pile-matched so it reads as one surface.

Flattened traffic lanes

Cheap flat tape yarn lies down under footfall and never stands back up, leaving a shiny path across the lawn. Brushing will not fix it, because the fibre itself has creased. This one is usually a replacement.

Pooling, damp and smell

Water sitting on the surface after rain means the base or the drainage layer failed, not the turf. We lift the affected area, correct the falls and the build-up, then relay so it drains again.

Weeds and pet damage

Weeds pushing through mean the geo-textile was skipped or has torn. Dogs dig at weak edges and worry loose seams. We fix the membrane and the anchoring so it stops recurring.

Which do you need

Repair or replace, decided in one visit.

The damage tells you very little on its own. The condition of the yarn away from the damage tells you almost everything.

Removal and disposal

We take the old turf away.

Lifting failed turf is heavier and messier work than laying new, and it is the part most suppliers quietly leave to you.

  • Lift and cart away the old turf, joining strips, pins and any failed base material.
  • Clean handover of the slab or soil underneath, so the new build-up starts from a known surface.
  • Recycling where the backing allows it, and an honest answer where it does not.
  • Condo and HDB access handled, including lift protection, permits and working hours.
  • Tenancy make-good, we have handed back floors with no marks at the end of a lease.
  • Removal only is fine, you do not have to buy a new lawn from us to have the old one taken out.

The team that lays it new

A repair is only as good as the installer behind it.

We have laid more than 1,700 projects since 2008, from private gardens to the FIFA 2-Star pitch at Jalan Besar Stadium, so we know exactly why a seam opened and what the base underneath is doing. That is the same knowledge a repair needs. One in-house team does the assessment, the repair and any replacement, with no subcontractors passing the blame.

Why bring a failed lawn to ibuild

We will happily repair turf somebody else sold you, and we will tell you the truth about how much life is left in it.

  • We repair any brand, not only the turf we installed ourselves.
  • Matching Namgrass ranges in stock, so patches blend instead of announcing themselves.
  • We fix the cause, the base, the falls and the membrane, not just the visible damage.
  • Honest assessment first, in writing, including when a repair is not worth your money.
  • Old turf removed and taken away, with recycling where the backing allows.
  • 10-year warranty when you replace with a full installed Namgrass system.

This is what cheap turf costs in the end.

Almost every lawn we tear out early was a bargain when it was bought. Here is how that maths actually works.

Why cheap costs more

Replacing it? Choose properly this time.

Five tests you can run on any sample before you buy, so the next lawn is the last one you pay for.

How to judge turf
Good to know

Common questions

Can artificial grass be repaired, or does it all have to come up?
Most of the time it can be repaired. Open seams, lifted edges, burns, small tears and pet damage are all local repairs, and we cut in a matching patch or re-seam the join. It is only when the yarn itself has failed across the whole area, faded, flattened or gone brittle, that patching stops being worth the money.
How do I know whether to repair or replace my artificial grass?
Look at the fibres away from the damage. If the pile still stands up and the colour is even, the turf has life left and a repair is the right call. If the surface is shiny, matted flat or grey in the sun-facing areas, the yarn has gone and a patch will simply sit next to a failing lawn. We will tell you which one you have before quoting.
Do you remove and dispose of old artificial grass?
Yes. We lift the old turf, remove the failed base where needed, and take everything away for disposal. Where the backing is a mono-material type we route it to recycling rather than landfill, and we will tell you honestly which category your old turf falls into.
Will a repair patch be visible?
A repair is always most invisible when the same product is still available and the surrounding turf has not faded far. We keep matching Namgrass ranges in stock, cut the patch to the same pile direction and seam it properly, so a good repair disappears within a few weeks of use. If we cannot get a match close enough we will say so rather than leave you with a visible square.
