Seven floors up at Far East Plaza Residential, a long-serving rooftop garden had done its time — its artificial lawn had faded, flattened and split at the seams under years of sun and foot traffic. We stripped the tired turf back to bare concrete and re-laid the entire deck — lawns, curved walkways and the children’s play area — in fresh, dense outdoor synthetic grass. Here is the whole job.

The existing rooftop turf had served the residence for years, but the tropical sun had bleached it pale, the pile had matted flat, and the joins between panels had opened up — leaving a patchy, uneven deck used daily by residents and children.
The brief was a clean sweep: remove every scrap of the old turf, take the surface back to sound bare concrete, and re-lay the whole rooftop — lawns, walkways and play zone — in a fresh, hard-wearing synthetic grass that would look sharp for years to come.

The worn-out old turf
Years of sun had faded the original turf to a pale, dusty green, with matted pile, open seams and lifting edges across the lawns and the children’s play zone by the timber deck.
Stripping back to bare concrete
We lifted and removed every panel of the old turf and its backing, clearing the deck section by section down to sound, bare concrete — the clean base a lasting re-turf depends on.
Re-laying fresh synthetic grass
New premium Namgrass was rolled out over the cleaned deck, tensioned and seamed, then hand-cut tight around every curved planter, kerb and the timber play deck. The whole rooftop came back to life in vivid, even green.
